No-show socks

A sock judged entirely on not being seen.

A no-show sits below the shoe line. Nothing shows above a loafer, a derby or a low trainer, and the sock is held in place by a silicone grip inside the heel rather than by a cuff around the leg.

This is the only construction where the product fails in one specific, visible way: it slides off the heel and bunches under the arch. Everything in the specification exists to prevent that, which is why a cheap no-show is a false economy in a way a cheap crew is not.

Cut depth. Low, ultra-low, or invisible. Each is a different pattern rather than a trim of the same one, so decide which shoe you are designing around before sampling.

Silicone placement. A single heel strip is the standard. A full horseshoe holds better and costs more. Silicone that sits too low touches the shoe, not the foot, and does nothing.

Heel tab. A small tab above the heel gives the wearer something to pull and stops the sock rolling under. It also breaks the invisibility, so it is a deliberate trade.

Wash life of the grip. Silicone is the first part of a no-show to fail. State how many washes the sock is expected to survive, and it becomes a testable specification rather than a hope.
