Questions buyers ask before the first order.

If the answer you need is not here, write to us and we will put it in writing.

What is your minimum order quantity?

200 pairs per colour and per size range. A design in three colours, knitted in one size range, is 600 pairs. A knitted-in logo does not raise the minimum, and repeat orders run on the same 200 pairs. The rules in full are on the minimums page.

Can you knit fewer than 200 pairs?

Yes, down to 120 pairs per colour. The price per pair rises a little, because setting up a colour costs the same however many pairs follow it. Splitting a colour into more sizes than the standard range is possible on the same terms.

Do you make white label socks?

Yes. Choose one of the constructions we already knit, pick the yarn and colours, and send your logo and packaging. The minimum is the same 200 pairs per colour, and the socks carry your brand only. How white label works.

What does a sample cost?

USD 100 per design on a first order. It covers programming the design, so there is no separate setup fee, and it is credited against the order if you go ahead. If the sample does not match your file, we knit it again free. If you change the design after the sample, the new sample is another USD 100.

How long do sampling and production take?

A sample takes 10 to 20 days, depending on how busy the floor is. Production is delivered within 60 days of sample approval. An urgent order at the minimum quantity can often be turned round in 20 to 40 days; say so when you send the brief. The workshop runs all year, so there is no peak season to plan around.

Where are Sockten socks manufactured?

In our own knitting workshop in Istanbul. Knitting, linking, boarding, pairing and packing all happen under one roof, and buyers are welcome to visit the floor before and after they place an order.

Do you manufacture under our own brand?

Yes. We work private label and white label only. Every order is produced to your specification and carries your brand, never ours.

Can our logo be knitted into the sock?

Yes. The needles form the logo as the sock is knitted, so there is nothing on the surface to fade, crack or peel. A knitted logo carries up to seven colours in a row, the ground and six more, and up to fourteen from top to bottom on a denser design, which is priced separately. Silicone print, under-sole transfer print, embroidery and header cards are available as well. The branding page has the detail.

Which sock types can you produce?

Fifteen constructions are listed in the catalogue: no-show, ankle, quarter, crew, knee-high, over-the-knee, sport, compression, terry, dress, thermal, non-slip, toe socks, baby and kids, and tights. That list reflects what buyers have asked for so far, not the limit of the machines.

Which sizes do you knit?

Women 35–40 and men 40–45 as standard. A range can be split into more sizes on request. Baby and children's socks are knitted to your size chart.

Which yarns can you knit with?

Sixteen fibres across four groups. Natural: cotton, wool, cashmere, silk, bamboo. Regenerated: mercerised cotton, modal, viscose, lyocell, Tencel. Technical: polyamide, polyester, acrylic, elastane. Functional: copper yarn, silver yarn. Blend ratios are set by your specification.

What certifications do you hold?

The facility is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 10002:2018 for customer satisfaction and complaints handling, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety, issued by ASB International Certification. The spinning mills we buy from hold Oeko-Tex, GOTS and GRS certification. Certificate numbers and copies are on the about page.

Who supplies the packaging and labels?

On orders from 3,000 pairs with a single label design, we have your header cards and labels printed for you after you approve the proof. Below 3,000 pairs you send your own labels and cards and we fit them during packing.

What is your production capacity?

Sixty knitting machines, from 120 to 200 needles, knit around 300,000 pairs a month under normal conditions.

Can we visit the factory before ordering?

Yes. Buyers are welcome to walk the floor in Istanbul before they commit and at any point during production.

How does the ordering process work?

You send a technical file, or a sketch and a reference pair. We knit a physical sample against it in 10 to 20 days. You measure the sample and approve it or return it for revision. The approved sample becomes the production standard and every batch is measured back to it. Goods are packed to your artwork and delivered within 60 days of approval. The full sequence is on the process page.

Do socks from Türkiye pay customs duty entering the EU?

No. Türkiye and the EU have been in a customs union since 1995 and it covers finished textiles. Socks shipped with an A.TR movement certificate enter the EU free of customs duty. That applies to any Turkish supplier, not only to us. The UK sits outside that customs union and is covered by a separate agreement. The detail is on the shipping and duty page.

How long does delivery take, and is freight included?

Delivery to any address in Türkiye is free. For export, freight is not included in the price per pair: we find you the best rate we can, or your own carrier collects from Istanbul. Road freight reaches most of Europe in 4 to 10 days, depending on distance. We prepare the export paperwork, including the invoice, A.TR and packing list.

Can you copy a sock we already sell?

Yes, provided the design is yours to reproduce. Send the physical pair. Matching a sock in hand is faster and far more accurate than matching a description of one.

We have never developed a sock before. Is that a problem?

No. If you do not have a technical pack we build one with you from a sketch, a reference pair, or simply a description of what the sock has to do. Arriving without a finished specification is normal.

What do you need from us to quote?

Sock type and length, yarn or blend, colourway, size range, quantity per colour, how your brand goes on the sock, and how it should be packed. If some of that is undecided, say so — we will quote against options rather than wait for a complete file. The yarns page and the branding page cover the two decisions that move the price most.

Which fibre certifications can the finished socks carry?

Oeko-Tex, GOTS and GRS, depending on the yarn chosen. Certificates belong to the yarn rather than to the factory, so tell us which certificate the finished product must be sold against and that decides which yarn lots we buy.

Can you make a sock that is not in your catalogue?

Yes. The catalogue lists what buyers have asked for so far, not the limit of the machines. Cylinder diameter, gauge, yarn, structure and finishing are variables set by your file. Send the drawing.
